Friday is fast approaching, and in between listening to bouts of Massive Attack and Air here at The DJ Book HQ, I've also been loving the tunes making themselves known via Twitter. So here is my favourites from Twitter this week:
First up the video to Danton Eeprom's quality house jam "Give Me Pain". Debut album from the London base French producer is due out February 12th. Via @junorecords. Watch: Watch
Next on our list is possibly (although I would have to check) the first time Mr C has taken to the mic, and blessed a track with his unique lyrical skills since The Shamen days. The London legend teams up with NYCs Adultnapper to form Sycophant Slags, the result is there first offering "Keep Off". With remixes from Reboot and The Wighnomy Brothers, I'm really loving this track and eager to see what's in store from this partnership, top tune! Via @joemuggs. Watch: Watch
Third on my list this week is a supposedly leaked track from the awesome Daft Punk. "The Crash" is a very atmospheric soundtrack esc tune, which leads people to believe it could in fact be from the forth coming Tron movie. At 12 minutes long it is a track that just keeps on giving, and is very much separated from the Daft Punk dance numbers that they are more famous for. None the less, give it a listen, it's well worth it. Via @ridney. Listen
And that brings me on the my last offering, and like any good set I want to send you out on a high. For this I'm going recommend none other than the mighty Defected Records and the latest offering from DJ/Producer Ridney. "At Night" is a twisted peak time stomper and is Ridney's debut release on the London based Defected. It clearly demonstrates why Ridney receives massive support for his productions, and more recently huge support from Pete Tong among others for his collaboration with James Talk on the re-working of the Pet Shop Boys classic, "West End Girls". I'm sure "At Night" will be a track you will hear spun at WMC in March, and will no doubt be a favourite of DJs heading to the white island this year. Watch
