After 21 years M8 becomes Tilllate Magazine

After 21 years and 244 monthly issues, legendary dance music magazine M8 is to be rebranded.

The new name, Tilllate Magazine, originates from the recent acquisition of Tilllate.com, a hugely successful nightlife site for club goers and music fans alike. Tilllate.com was established nine years ago and has since built an online community of some 2.5 million unique users per month.

Glasgow based M8 Magazine was founded in the 80's taking its name from the motorway that links Edinburgh and Glasgow. Ever evolving to reflect the changing dance music and youth-culture, M8 has built a huge following through the magazine and its international events, helping to drive the magazine forward.

"As the former Editor of M8 Magazine, I have been like a kid at Christmas time waiting for this relaunch to happen! It's been a hard few months trying to keep quiet about it, but thankfully it's now official and myself and the rest of the former M8 team cannot wait to help take tilllate Magazine forward!" commented Tilllate Magazine Editor, Kevin McFarlane.

The final issue of M8 Magazine was released on July 24th and September's issue (available from 28th August) will see the magazine adopt its new name. As well as being available in stores across the UK, Ibiza and Mallorca, you can now also access the digital version of the magazine from Tilllatemagazine.com.

This move comes after Development Hell, the publisher behind Mixmag, bought DontStayIn.com, one of the first social networking and nightlife sites for clubbers back in April 2009, after entering negotiations in October 2008.

The rebranding of M8 can only strengthen and widen the coverage of the magazine, and as the media print industry continues to change, with more readers favouring online sources for the latest news than the tradition print media, it can only serve to help the magazine grow and survive in this increasingly insecure and competitive market.
